Nymphoides geminata/Yellow Fringed Water Snowflake

Nymphoides geminata

This may be the plant for you if you have a small water garden or a container water garden.  Like tiny water lilies these diminutive plants produce a yellow fimbriated flower which blooms in the morning then closes with the summer heat.

What a lovely little water plant. I can't wait to see the bloom. I hope you post a pic when it does.

Soon, I hope, soon, PG.

Your post reminds me that I would actually like to get a big wine barrel and make a small water container with aquatic plants.

Niels,
I am looking forward to seeing your wine barrel water garden.

Hi MN,
Again, I sigh that we've not got the room for a water garden just yet, but it's been one of our long term dreams for the garden out back. I too would like to see the flowers when they bloom, so keep us posted!

IVG,
You could always have a container water garden like
Niels is contemplating. I have in the past used a large composite flower pot.... The ones that are light weight and have sidewalls about an inch thick. Thick walls are insulation from hot and cold temps.

That's lovely! I have no space for a water body and for my next container water garden this plant will be a good idea!
