Woodland Tobacco

Nicotiana sylvestris seeds as fine as dust planted on top of the soil sprouted into miniscule plants. I pricked them from the plug and planted them in a larger container. I'm always amazed how life can be stored so compactly. Those are grains of sand in the photo not pebbles.

The flowers are not only attractive but fragrant at night. Plants are poisonous.

Cotyledon tomentosa/Bear's Paw

Upon inspection, I noticed my bear's paw (kitten paw) not doing so well and went searching the internet for info when I found this beautiful site of succulents.
(Click under the large photo for ID box.)

preview has Cotyledon information.  Have fun. Peruse the whole preview.

Confederate Violets

seem to be doing well in well drained clay in full sun. I always thought of them as a woodland flower.

Deep Rose Hellebore

I'll Be Seeing You

was popular when I was a child but I remember it. It expresses longing for an absent loved one better than any other.

Purple Finch

Cardinal

All the birds are singing and nesting.

Deer do not usually browse so near...not while I'm looking anyway.

Sweet Tweet

Carolina wren was released from Roger's camera.

Oh, look. Here's another.

And, another.
Preferring live food, they almost never come to the feeders, but they like suet.

We had an early supper at the Red Pony in Franklin before the Buble concert last night. I will return.

Michael Buble Concert

Tonight is the night.

"Feeling Good"

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea
You know how I feel
River running free
You know how I feel
Blossom on a tree
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
That's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me

And I'm feeling good

Daffodils

A few tiny ones are blooming.

To An Early Daffodil

Thou yellow trumpeter of laggard Spring!
Thou herald of rich Summer's myriad flowers!
The climbing sun with new recovered powers
Does warm thee into being, through the ring
Of rich, brown earth he woos thee, makes thee fling
Thy green shoots up, inheriting the dowers
Of bending sky and sudden, sweeping showers,
Till ripe and blossoming thou art a thing
To make all nature glad, thou art so gay;
To fill the lonely with a joy untold;
Nodding at every gust of wind to-day,
 To-morrow jewelled with raindrops.
Always bold To stand erect, full in the dazzling play
Of April's sun, for thou hast caught his gold.
